AA Member Arrested While Attending AA Meeting at Church For Stealing Car

AA member  Brian Michael Mulrooney, 23, was arrested for stealing a vehicle at an AA meeting being held in a church. This man resisted arrest and head butted a police officer. Churches need to be very careful about allowing AA meetings.

Church pastors need to review their Insurance policies to see if it covers the AA meetings, and also to require the AA and NA meetings to provide insurance to the church that includes Sexual Abuse Molestation Liability Insurance because the courts are mandating 3rd level sexual predators to AA meetings along with rapists. Is this really what they want for their church? It is quite possible that Brian Michael Mulrooney was court mandated as well.I wonder how many minors got to witness this violent arrest?

Police Arrest Car Theft Suspect at AA Meeting

Phillipsburg man accused of stealing a car, and later headbutting a city officer

Easton police entered an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting inside a city church Saturday morning to arrest a man accused of having a stolen car.
The man, Brian Michael Mulrooney, 23, of Phillipsburg resisted arrest and at one point head-butted an officer in the back of his head, court records say.Police spotted the stolen Chevrolet Lumina with New Jersey license plates on the unit block of N. 12th Street and entered the church at 1151 Northampton St. around 10:40am.

Oliva said Mulrooney gave him a set of keys for a Chevrolet that he said he owned. But the keys fit the locks and ignition for the stolen Lumina, Oliva said.

While Oliva tried to get Mulrooney “live scanned” – capturing fingerprints by electronic means – the suspect pushed officers with his body and attempted to escape, forcing Oliva to physically restrain the suspect.

It was during the restraining process that Mulrooney head-butted another officer, Oliva said.

Mulrooney, of 584 Roseberry St., was charged with receiving stolen property, aggravated assault and resisting arrest. He was arraigned Saturday night by on-duty District Judge Joseph Barner of Lower Nazareth Township and committed to Northampton County Prison in lieu of $10,000 bail.

  1. Well if being arrested for driving a stolen vehicle to an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting isn’t enough, Brian Michael Mulrooney was charged for assault in prison for spitting on corrections officer Gregory Knauss from in his cell on Jan 28, 2013. This added another charge to Mulrooney causing him to be charged with a 3rd Degree Felony and a new $50,000 bail by District Judge Patricia Romig-Passaro on Tuesday Feb. 5, 2013.

  2. It is obvious you have a personal problem with recovery meetings-AA in particular! Of course I am happy to have people like you exist so I can have a barometer to self-check my own level of recovery and compared to you I am real healthy today-thank GOD! I see numerous problems with your comment regarding your post, you need help-start with someone who has a happy, joyous and free program of recovery working for them-I am sure although they might cringe at your post-they might actually tell you things which you need to hear.
First of all it is not the (AA/NA/CA/etc.) meetings fault as to who attends the meetings-the doors are usually open to anyone, including those who are sent to them from the courts. With that in mind-to stop your inane way of thinking, would it not at least be the fault or liability of the courts for FORCING the supposedly BAD individuals to attend these meetings. Another question: Did you lead an angelic life before you started attending meetings (I am assuming you go to meetings!)? And does not the Lords’ Prayer forgive us our trespasses as we have forgiven those who trespass against us? I could go on and on taking inventory over your comment but I would rather be at a recovery meeting full of criminals and pervs than one which contained nothing but people with selfish closed minds such as yours>your opinion KILLS people-so who needs help? THEM? YOU? ME?…YES!

    • You are right about one thing Doug, I certainly have a problem with 12 step programs. I will start with your statement that the AA/NA/CA is not at fault as to who attends meetings. Wow Doug, if I had a nickel for every time a 12 stepper said that false deceiving statement. To answer your questions about the courts liability, if you read more on this site you will see equal blame put on the shoulders of the court system that mandate AA/NA/CA/SA meetings.

AA hopes that people do not realize the truth though. The Truth is AA is an integral part of people being forced against their constitutional rights to attend AA meetings. I am sure you are aware that AA/NA has a Hospital and Institutions divisions where they actively go to prisons, open meetings there, and bring them to outside meetings when they are on work release or on probation. In fact AA is very adamant that people released from prison attend an AA meeting on their very first day out of prison. Regardless of what crime they committed. This would include murder and rape. Also AA and NA court the Courts and are in the inner fabric of our judicial system. They go meet with judges and drug courts, mental health courts etc to push their 12 step program agenda. Without the court system AA would be a mere shell of themselves. AA is already declining in many area of the country as people are learning how harmful AA really is.

No I do not go to AA meetings. Are you kidding me? I was never a member, thank GOD! It is a very very unhealthy and unsafe and non-christian environment. Doug, did you not read some of the articles on this website where AA and NA member have killed. raped and financially scammed people? I think it is your mind that is closed and in deep denial, and needs help deprogramming from the Alcoholics Anonymous cult.

Reality check- AA is not the only way!!!!!!!!
