Woman accused of being intoxicated and trying to start fights at an AA meeting

One woman was arrested Monday after police got a call that an intoxicated woman was starting fights in a church in Linton where several people were trying to have an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting. Holly Hill NA Daytona Meetings in Hollyland Park refusing to pay rent.
Mary Kathleen Brian, 45, of Bloomfield was booked into the Greene County Jail where her bond was set at $500 surety. She was released after posting $50 cash and is due to appear in Greene Superior Court next Monday. AA Daytona Meetings in Daytona Beach.
Officer Nick Yingling was on patrol when he was dispatched to the church and was met by a man standing outside saying the woman was inside the building fighting with people.
He reported that as he walked inside the church, he saw three people who were trying to hold Brian down. He said she was swinging her arms with closed fists trying to hit them, and she was yelling and cussing. SMART Recovery meetings in St. Augustine Fl.
The officer told the individuals to let her go, but she then approached the officer and raised her arms at him. He grabbed her, pushed her against a wall and put handcuffs on for her safety and his. Judge Will Drug Court and religious court mandated AA meetings.
She was reportedly still yelling and cussing when one of the individuals said they were having the meeting when she came in yelling and trying to start fights with everyone.
Yingling said he could smell the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from Brian who told him her brother-in-law was supposed to pick her up for the meeting but he never showed. She began drinking whiskey and then drove to the meeting herself.
She was then taken into custody and transported. Orange Papers Anti- AA.
When Brian appears in court for an initial hearing, she will be charged with public intoxication that endangers a person’s life, a class B misdemeanor.
So did this woman get sentenced to go back to the AA meeting, where she was drunk and had a fight, to get sober? Is this what step 10 is for!
Hi Illbefree! You are right a reality TV show about AA and NA arrests would be a good idea, along with the meetings themselves. I think Americans and others would be SHOCKED at what is said in those meetings that would depict what a sick, dangerous cult it really is.
Right AntiD…wouldn’t that be a show of shows? I’d watch it. I used to have a front row seat, but it wasn’t worth it because I had to actually be amongst those zombies.
I really did look forward to people acting stupid and coming in drunk and angry. It was the only thing that broke the monotony of sitting there having my ass turn to pins and needles listening to driveling drunkalogues and old timer monologues of egomaniacal self-delusion.
Also, I think the occasion of this missing flight is an opportunity for people to start looking at substance use within the FAA and the participation of our pilots in 12 step based programs.
I’m not saying that the pilots of the missing flight has substance use issues. Who the hell knows at this point? It is as good a moment to pause and look at what is happening though…though I see it is somewhat of a “taboo-topic”…
(AA and NA are so subtly powerful as they strip everyone else’s power away, aren’t they?)

Would it make me seem like a really awful, immature person to LAUGH OUT LOUD at this ridiculous episode of typified AA? I remember often feeling in those meetings as if something CRAZY was about to just jump off at any damned minute.
I did not look forward to any serious “violence” but I was in such a dark place when I was attending those exercises in lunacy, that I looked forward to drunk people causing a ruckus or some idiots poppin off in an OUTBURST of an argument across the crusty tables.
I would have popped some corn and poured some coffee for this show of true colors.

The sad thing here is that they will use her as an example of what will happen to you as you “hit bottom” for failing to pray right in order to get your “daily reprieve from disease” just before you DIE so that others may live.
