- Skid marks from a crash scene in the Inner Sunset district led to the home of San Francisco police Sgt. Thomas Haymond, who pleaded no contest to a DUI charge Tuesday.
A San Francisco police sergeant will have to attend 90 Alcoholics Anonymous meetings and stay a month in a residential treatment program as part of his sentence for a DUI collision last month in the Inner Sunset district.
Sgt. Thomas Haymond has pleaded no contest to a DUI charge in connection with an off-duty collision with a parked car near 12th Avenue and Lawton Street on Oct. 8, Assistant District Attorney Alex Bastian said Tuesday. Daytona AA and NA Meetings in Daytona.
After crashing into the car, which then struck a tree, the veteran cop reportedly drove to his home in the 1100 block of Moraga Street. Police found him there after following a trail of skid marks from the accident scene. His blood alcohol level was more than three times the legal limit at the time of his arrest, police said.
As of Tuesday, police said, Haymond remains on administrative leave and has been reassigned to a non-patrol function until the completion of an internal investigation.
This cop was mandated to 90 days to AA meetings. I bet he was not given a secular option. Maybe he can do some undercover work while he goes to AA meetings and bust some of the sex predators and drug dealers in there.
