He was charged last month with indecent assault, corruption of minors, concealing the whereabouts of a child and furnishing alcohol to a minors.

Corrigan allegedly met the 16-year-old girl at an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting, and the pair began seeing each other. The girl’s parents soon learned she had gone missing and on June 4, they filed a missing person’s report.

Following an investigation into her whereabouts, the girl was found by Upper Merion police and county detectives at the Crowne Plaza Hotel with Corrigan. Court documents suggest the pair had just had sex when officers converged on their room. She reportedly told them she began a relationship with Corrigan in March.

An attorney for Corrigan could not be reached at press time.

“Vancouver is a great place to keep grounded when you are in the spotlight and trying to be sober.

  3. More Information On Man Who Sexually Assaulted Teen

    UPPER MERION TOWNSHIP, Pa. –
The suspect is a married man and police believe he was a school teacher about five years ago.

Tonight he’s in jail on $750,000 cash bail. And the teen, police say, is getting help.

47 year old Paul Corrigan is accused of running off with a 16-year old girl that police say he met in Alcoholics Anonymous, where they were both seeking help. Corrigan was a mentor to the teen, but police say he was anything but that.

“There was an agreement that she was going to run away from home. He came and picked her up.” Says Upper Merion Police Chief Tom Nolan

The victims’s mother reported her missing on June 4th. Police spent two days investigating and came across information that pointed to Corrigan. Corrigan’s wife had reported him missing around the same time.

Police located Corrigan’s car, a white Mercury Sable, parked near the Crown Plaza Hotel on Mall Boulevard in Upper Merion Township. That’s also where police say they found the girl and Corrigan.

“His reaction to seeing the officers was not shock at all. He actually continued what he was doing, brushing his teeth at the time,” says Chief Nolan.

Police say they found various sex paraphernalia inside the hotel room, and the victim allegedly told them that Corrigan on occasion had given her alcohol and cigarettes.

Corrigan’s neighbors are shocked to hear about the allegations.

“Very shocked it’s just something I can’t believe that he would do it’s just unbelievable,” says neighbor Jean Hays.

“I was disgusted by it because I have young children and I couldn’t imagine, someday they’ll be 16 just like that little girl,” says neighbor Donna Becker.

Police believe Corrigan taught in the Philadelphia school district five years ago; they’re still working to confirm that. They want to know if he’s had inappropriate contact with any other minors back then.

If you know anything, call police.

  4. It is sad too see these stories continue to happen, but it is great the newspapers are finally starting to print the TRUTH to some degree. This particular situation most likely happens thousands of times and we never hear about it.
