AA Member and violent sex offender Jafford Smith, is on the run after attending a local AA meeting on Main St in Montana. It is not an uncommon practice to allow prisoners to leave prison or pre-release centers to go into the general public to attend AA meetings. This is also how prisoners escape, just like Jafford Smith did. It is ridiculious to send violent sex offenders into the community without any warning to people attending the AA meetings! Of course do not forget that AA supports this practice. A person attending might not be aware of the violent felons sitting next to them at an AA/NA meeting .

Man walks away from Missoula Pre-Release Center

MISSOULA- Missoula Police are asking for your help in finding a felon and registered violent sex offender who walked away from the Missoula Pre-Release Center.

Police say Jafford Demont Smith failed to return to the center Thursday and was last seen attending an Alcoholic Anonymous meeting on Main Street.

Witnesses say Smith left the meeting early and was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, dark pants and a New York baseball cap.  Smith is around 6’2″ and 250 pounds and has tattoos on his hands and neck.

He was serving a five-year sentence for theft and failure to register as a violent offender. Anyone with information about Smith is being asked to contact police.
