This man is a violent level 3 sexual predator mandated to attend Stearns County Minnesota Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous and have a sponsor. He must also participate in Domestic Violence Court. Is Judge Davick Halfen concerned at all that minors attend AA/NA meetings too !? He should be, as many courts mandate juveniles to 12 step programs with the blessings of GSO AA and NA World Services. When are the people that are in a position to protect minors going to start doing their JOB?!

I live in the area that this sick fuck lives in. I apologize for the language but it is what he is. He’s not the only one in the area either. The reason I left the program here is that situations like this are all too common. In my time in NA here, I didn’t meet anyone who wasn’t a felon or have serious control issues. There is one of those “treatment programs” for sex offenders in our area that is well known for sending offenders to 12 step groups. It gets even sicker, that sex offender treatment center is in the same complex as an abortion clinic and there’s always nutjobs protesting outside of the abortion clinic but no one says shit about the sex offender treatment center. Everyone in the area knows about this center but no one talks about it. I took an abnormal psychology class in college and we had one of the “counselors” from the center come into our class and talk about the program. This woman defended these people, talked about how many of them had mental illnesses, dysfunctional families and drug and alcohol problems. Plenty of people have family problems, mental illnesses and problems with drugs and alcohol and they don’t go out and take advantage of someone sexually. She even talked a lot about how many of them benefit from involvement from drug treatment and 12 step groups. Looking back on the situation now, I should have asked the important question. I wonder if she was a 12 stepper? Needless to say, it took everything in me to not get pissed off and walk out of that class. I apparently wasn’t the only one, there were a lot of people shaking their heads going “what the fuck is with that lady?” There is also a state prison in the area that releases offenders into the local community. Which doesn’t help the situation.
It seems NA are filled with this type of slime. On top of that they continue to have “youth outreach” efforts to bring in more minors.
These people know what type of danger they are putting these teens into, But they are so brainwashed, all common sense has gone out of the window.
Back to your story,that is pretty bad when you hear that the woman was being sympathetic to sex abusers of children. It is one thing to try to explain how people might end up that way, but to sympathize is outrageous! There are plenty of sex abusers out there that had a good upbringing as well. It sounds like you have left Narcotics Anonymous for good right? Sounds like you were using common sense to get out of a cult that protects these type of people and even invite them to their meetings with children.
Pretty light sentence.I think you are right, the courts need to have available professional help for sexual predators and not send them to Alcoholics Anonymous meetings where children are allowed to be as well. Lets both Tuesday, this common practice is just horrible. The courts and AA should be ashamed of themselves.
Dear God, what is going on here. This is just disgusting. He needs to go to jail. They need to not send him to a regular meetings. I think they need to make special meetings in the court house and send these guys there out of the general population. How Scary. SO if I sent my 16 year old to a meeting where he is a minor will be in the same meeting with him. DOn’t these Judges know this.
